ByAccident has been operating for close to 20 years in Birkenhead. The shop itself has been part of the landscape for 30 years, previously known as Bryce Sommerville Panelbeaters.
Owner and operator Mark Higgins brings over 30 years of experience in panel beating and vehicle spray painting. Mark continues to develop and grow ByAccident with new technology and processes — serving private clients, professional customers, and insurance companies as the panel beater of choice throughout Auckland.
Located between Northcote and Chatswood — approximately 10 minutes from Beach Haven, Birkdale, Glenfield, Hillcrest, Northcote Point, and Takapuna.

Water-based, eco-friendly PPG paints restore your car to factory finish. Prepared in an extracted dust-free bay before final application in a low-bake oven for a fast, even cure. Air is filtered during painting — eco-friendly atmosphere out the other side.
ByAccident is an approved and preferred repairer for the majority of major NZ-based insurance companies. We work directly with insurers to process claims efficiently — and walk customers through every step of the claims process.

Contact your insurance company and obtain a claim number. We're already on their approved repairer list, so this is the easy part.
Forward the claim number to us — we organise the assessment with the insurer directly so you don't have to chase paperwork.
Bring the car to 14 Enterprise Street, or use our free local pickup. Take a loan car or get a drop-off home within Birkenhead.
We complete the repair, paint, and detail — then you collect a vehicle finished to factory specification. Or we'll deliver it back to you.
